With the establishment of the hessnatur foundation, hessnatur follows an ambition of company founder Heinz Hess and intends to build an institutional platform to bring the idea of sustainable management into a broader social public. The project work of the operative foundation is operated by textile engineers, environmental specialists as well as experts for social standards, who were part of the former corporate responsibility department of hessnatur. Thus the hessnatur foundation can fall back on decades of experience about sustainability in the textile industry directly from the beginning. The foundation has expertise in the following fields: textile ecology, social standards and thus for the establishment required management systems. Purpose of the foundation is 'research and development of applied sustainability'.
