Children First is service of Growing Potential Ltd. We are a proud community-based not-for-profit charity that has been operating since 1948. We have six childcare services in the greater Blacktown area and run a number of projects to support inclusion. We are proud to say that of the many languages in Blacktown, we have 54 represented in the families of our users, and there are 23 languages represented in our staff. Our mission is to grow and support the potential of children, families, and communities by providing a positive learning environment with expert educators to help your children thrive. Our professional development department, Children First Training, provides expert and affordable professional development courses for staff and educators in the early childhood education and care sector. As practitioners, we know ‘early childhood’ so you can be sure you will be provided with training that is current, accurate and, at times, edgy. Our sessions are held in Western Sydney and are accessed by educators from multiple child care providers in the industry, primarily from the Blacktown and Penrith local government areas, as well as those that travel from all over New South Wales and even interstate. As part of the Growing Potential family, our children, families and employees have access to a broad range of services including early childhood intervention and disability support, Indigenous community, family and health services as well as services reaching all age groups in the wider community too. These factors make Children First a preferred child care and training provider in the Western Sydney area.
