Pooraka Farm Community Centre is situated on Montague Farm Estate, on the corner of Henderson Avenue and Montague Road right next to the windmill. The modern building, which is light and airy, was constructed in 1993. The Centre is adjacent to a childcare centre and opposite a shopping complex. It is within easy walking distance from Main North Rd, and not far from Mawson Lakes. Programs also run from our second site at Pooraka Memorial Hall at 39 Scott St Pooraka and include our Men’s Shed Program. The centre is governed by a Management Committee that work in partnership with the City of Salisbury to identify, plan, develop & deliver programs and services in response to identified local community needs. The building is owned and maintained by the City of Salisbury. The Centre offers a variety of activities which play a vital role in supporting and developing social and educational life within the community. We do this by delivering Lifelong Learning opportunities that support social wellbeing, foster intellectual and personal growth, and provide pathways into further education, training and employment.
