www.ywcayonkers.orgYWCA Yonkers is a non-profit community-based organization serving the city of Yonkers and the surrounding areas of Westchester County, New York as an affiliate of YWCA USA, one of the nation’s oldest and largest minority and women-controlled community organizations and the nation’s first institution to formalize job training for women. Our mission is to eliminate racism and empower women and girls YWCA Yonkers first opened our doors in 1892, offering supportive housing to single women. Over the years we have emerged as a multicultural, and ethnically diverse organization providing services that greatly impact the quality of life of community residents (women, men, children, youth and the elderly). Experienced in the provision of several valued community programs and services, we currently offer a 51-room residence for women, a licensed child development center serving children ages 6 weeks to 12 years, programs for seniors and at-risk youth, and an annual summer camp. All YWCA programs and services are designed to help individuals achieve their full potential, strengthen families and improve the quality of life of the community.
