The Newport Gallery Organization is an organization of galleries and museums in Newport, RI that is promoting the art community and fine arts in Newport, RI. Newport Gallery Organization’s goal is to make the art community and fine arts more accessible and visible to area residents and visitors.The group hosts Newport Gallery Night, a monthly evening art tour on the second Thursday of the month from February through December, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm including 23 participating art galleries & the Newport Art Museum, Rough Point & The Redwood Library open to the public, free parking at the Gateway Center and the Newport Art Museum, and a dining discount coupon for many area restaurants. The mission is to make the art community and the fine arts more accessible and visible to both area residents and out-of-town visitors. Our goals are simple: we want to heighten awareness and have the general public come and view art, to become more educated about the history of art, to become more aware that art is currently being created, and aware that there are nationally recognized and emerging artists working in their midst. Newport’s many fine galleries showcase a wide variety of art expressions--marine art, art glass, avant-garde, cutting edge, contemporary, wearable, folk art, decorative and antique art.
