The Fund for Animals

www.fundforanimals.org

The Fund for Animals is one of the nation’s largest providers of veterinary care, rehabilitation and sanctuary for abused, abandoned, injured and neglected animals. Every year, hundreds of animals in need are rescued, treated, rehabilitated and, if necessary, given a lifelong home at one of the Fund for Animals’ three globally respected care and sanctuary centers. 365 days a year, dedicated staff, students and volunteers nurse the wounded, tend the abandoned and restore dignity to the mistreated. Founded in 1967 by Cleveland Amory—a prominent author and passionate animal advocate—the Fund for Animals joined forces in 2005 with the Humane Society of the United States to form a powerful partnership for animal protection and welfare. In addition to providing hands-on care and sheltering to hundreds of different species and more than 1,000 permanent sanctuary residents, the Fund for Animals advocates at the local and national levels for policies to protect animals, trains volunteers in animal caretaking, teaches the public how to coexist peacefully with wildlife and provides veterinary students from around the world with valuable hands-on experience. Whether it be through rehabilitation or lifelong sanctuary, the animals who are fortunate enough to receive the aid of the Fund for Animals’ care centers are only able to do so because of generous donations from our supporters.
