Chalon Creates! began in 2012 with a focus on creating diverse curriculum resources for students with varying levels of academic ability and achievement. At the time, there were few, ready-made resources that teachers could use to meet the needs of students performing below grade level that were engaging and culturally responsive. After seeing dramatic increases in student performance by including student interests in lessons and strategically teaching high-leverage concepts, we expanded our work to include curriculum development, coaching and mentoring new teachers, and facilitating professional development sessions. As the needs for students and teachers grew, Chalon Creates! expanded their reach to provide culturally responsive resources, individualized coaching, targeted professional development sessions, and professional branding services.
