Netherlands Business Support Offices (NBSO's) in China promote Dutch trade and investments in specific regions and are part of the Economic Network of the Netherlands Government in China. NBSO Chengdu covers the province of Sichuan. After developing its eastern coastal region, China currently focusses on stimulating the ecomy of the western part of the country, the 'Go West Policy'. Ambitious developments are taking place with an enormous speed. The city of Chengdu, capital of the province of Sichuan with roundabout 16 million inhabitants, is one of the key players. The province of Sichuan, also known as the ‘Province of Abundance’, is an important agricultural area.
