The Department of Emergency and Military Affairs (DEMA) consists of the Arizona National Guard (Air, Army, Joint Task Force), the Division of Administrative Services and the Division of Emergency Management. DEMA is uniquely made up of a diverse mix of Soldiers, Airmen, and state and federal employees that all work together to ensure overall mission success to the citizens, first responders, and governments at the local, state, and national level. The incredible versatility of the National Guard enables a response to domestic emergencies, combat missions, counterdrug efforts and more—all with equal speed, strength and efficiency. The department maintains the State Emergency Operations Center which serves as a command center for coordinating the state’s response to incidents statewide.
