The Junior League of Summit (JLS) is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. JLS serves the communities of Berkeley Heights, New Providence, Chatham and Summit, New Jersey. Community Impact of the Junior League of Summit includes: - Recently celebrated 88 years of effecting positive community change through voluntarism - Opened in 1934, The Junior League Thrift Shop is the oldest retail establishment in Summit - Over one million volunteer hours since our founding in 1929 - $3,000,000 returned to the community through grant funding and scholarships since inception and giving over $50,000 in 2018! - Current focus of striving to cover the basic needs of the underserved in the Summit area via donations drives, discreet aid, nutrient dense foods, and advocacy through GRACE (Giving and Receiving Assistance for Our Community’s Essentials.
