THE FLINT COLLECTIVE NYC is a cross-disciplinary design collective of architects, lighting designers, interior designers, artists and art educators, transforming the quality and experience of public space in NYC and contributing to the color and life that distinguishes This City. By design, we examine with rigour how transformation of public space through the materiality of light can change our perspective of the world. Working at the intersection of art and design, each member of the collective has their own individual art practice enhanced by the added dimensions and expertise of cross-disciplinary design studies. As a collective, we are bound by a deep belief in the bold vision required to produce creative encounters that shape our perception and experience of the world. Art becomes the FLINT that when struck against the steel of our cities' skeletons sparks our COLLECTIVE imagination.
