The Maritime University of Szczecin (MUS) continues the tradition of sea-related education of Szczecin’s maritime schools that originated in 1947. Its major goal is the training of ship’s personnel, deck and engineer officers, to world standards of the merchant and fishing fleets as well as qualified land-based personnel for shipowner companies and port operators involved in sea and inland shipping. The University has over 100 well-equipped laboratories, a modern research-training vessel the m/s Nawigator XXI, and 14 most technically advanced simulators. In 2006 we obtained the founds from EU for building another two highly specialized simulators: Full-Mission Bridge Simulator with several virtual bridges and Engine Room Simulator. This makes the University one of the best-equipped by XXI century standards maritime universities in the world. The whole university functions under the quality management system ISO 9001.
