Rob Surgical is a spin-off of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) created in 2012 which designs and develops new robotic systems for minimally invasive surgery. The first product developed by the company is the Bitrack System. The founding team members are Dr Josep Amat, Dr Alícia Casals, Dr Manel Frigola and the entrepreneur Jaume Amat. Rob Surgical is a member of CataloniaBio & HealthTech, an association of over 170 companies in the fields of life sciences and healthcare.
