LION & WITCH announced its grand opening July 1, 2015, at the Shops of Highland Park. Aiming to provide an additional shopping avenue for innovative fashionistas in Dallas, LION & WITCH features a fresh modern twist of East and West coast inspired looks at an affordable price. Founder and Buyer, Brittany York, is most notably known for creating concepts that evoke inspiration. Prior to LION & WITCH, she opened Milk & Honey Boutique in 2011, recognized by D Magazine as Reader’s Choice for ‘Best Affordable’ boutique for three years in a row. In comparison to its peers in the Highland Park area, LION & WITCH delivers a fresh take on designer inspired looks, at a fraction of the price. Pieces are handpicked with the following in mind: modern, feminine, contouring, avant garde, classy, and chic. To capitalize on the magical element inherent to the store’s name, the space was purposefully designed to make only one thing visible from the storefront window, a wardrobe. Handcrafted by local Dallas artist Gary Buckner of Stash Designs, the wardrobe leads you into the store where you are met with contrasting pops of black minimalist fixtures against white walls smoothed over by hues of pinks and corals found within copper rods, art prints, and woven rugs, all contributing to the store’s feminine yet modern vibe. Come explore the wardrobe and perhaps you’ll walk away resonating with the famous novel’s quote displayed in white neon letters on a wall inside: “it was as one remembers a dream.”
