Since its establishment in 1848, the Department of Internal Medicine at Michigan Medicine has been a leader in the advancement of patient care, education, and research. With more than 830 faculty and 310 residents and fellows distributed over 13 divisions, we are the largest clinical department within the University of Michigan Medical School - caring for more than half of the patients who come to Michigan Medicine.
