Hoosier Ag Today

Hoosier Ag Today was born out of a need to provide a voice for Indiana agriculture. As agriculture in the Hoosier State began to change and grow in the early 21st century, there was a void of information for and about the industry on the radio. Veteran farm broadcaster Gary Truitt had a desire to tell the story of the great economic promise and potential of Hoosier agriculture. In 2006, he founded Hoosier Ag Today, a series of programs that focuses on the news and issues for and about Indiana agriculture. This new approach to farm programming has been well received by the Hoosier agricultural and broadcast communities. “I like the way Gary is heading with Hoosier Ag Today because he is going to focus on Indiana agriculture,” noted Steve Lankford, General Manager of WRAY AM/FM in Princeton, IN. Several major Indiana farm organizations partnered with Hoosier Ag Today in multi-year agreements. Indiana Farm Bureau president Don Villwock called Truitt a great servant-leader for Indiana agriculture, “His vision for developing the ag network has just been a blessing for all of Indiana agriculture, to keep up on the latest technology, the latest ag news all across – literally – the world. He really thinks like a farmer and has a passion in his heart for agriculture.” Hoosier Ag Today uses the latest technology to deliver time-critical information to farmers and non-farmers alike via local radio stations and the internet. Hoosier Ag Today is dedicated to serving its listeners, readers, and advertisers with quality service and information. HAT will continue to grow and change to keep pace with the dynamic agricultural industry of the state. Hoosier Ag Today is the only media organization exclusively dedicated to covering Indiana agriculture. By making its content local and relevant to Indiana farm families, HAT has become the leading source for timely news, market, and weather information in Indiana. Thanks for taking a few minutes to learn about Hoosier Ag Today. Indiana agriculture is a dynamic and growing industry with a fantastically bright future. Hoosier Ag Today is uniquely positioned to serve the farm families of Indiana as well as the businesses who want to reach them, both now and for years to come.
