The Warm Age Wood Company
www.warm-age.comWe are a Community Interest Company incorporated in 2014 and based here in Teesdale, Co Durham. Our aim is to help preserve our beautiful environment and to keep people warm and well. Through our products and philosophy we aim to ‘Warm homes, bodies and hearts’. We sell dry wood briquette products from sustainable sources for home fires and as part of our service we are committed to supporting others in the community through our “10-2-1 promise” wherein for every 10 briquette packs sold we will provide 1 free/subsidized pack to identified elderly or fuel vulnerable individuals. We also give wool to people who make lovely items on a voluntary basis. Each item is unique and demonstrates the skill of our elderly knitters. We sell these items and the profits made go towards the purchase of wood briquettes to support community members who live in cold homes in the Dales. We want to connect the people who have made the woolen items with those who receive it and to be able to say to our knitters to whom and where it has gone in the world. This reinforces our aim of connecting our knitters with each other, with our woolen customers, with our help for the fuel vulnerable and with places. These actions make a life enhancing contribution to their lives and give a solution to them to ‘Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give’ -' Five Ways to Wellbeing actions developed by the New Economics Foundation'
