The organisation's goal is to empower people in need whilst improving environmental, social and economic sustainability. Enactus Newcastle is the Geordie branch of the organisation, run by passionate students at Newcastle University. We have the support of both the university and business advisers from global as well as local corporations. The society is currently running two projects with many more in development! Our two current business start-up projects are Action for Awareness which aims to help individuals on the autistic spectrum get into employment and, potentially, self-employment. And Eldecare, who have invented a device that provides care and reassures careers of the elderly who live independently, that they are safe. The device offers support by monitoring their daily routine, using the fridge, and alerting their career if any set parameters are crossed.
