ActivOT is Australia’s first and only occupational therapy franchise business. Founded by award-winning occupational therapist, Helen Whait, in 2012, ActivOT now has 50 franchises across metropolitan and regional South Australia and Queensland. Helen Whait is known for challenging the status quo of occupational therapy service provision, empowering therapists to shake off the constraints of traditional employment - along with the burnout, bullying and bureaucracy that come with it - to form a cooperative of practitioners who lift each other up. The franchise is a values-driven and structured to fit with the lives of each franchisee – rather than imposing unreasonable constraints and territories on practitioners. In 2022-23 ActivOT is expanding into NSW and Victoria and invites expressions of interest from AHPRA registered occupational therapists who are ready to become private practitioners.
