Het NNO werd opgericht in 1862 en is daarmee Nederlands oudste professionele symfonieorkest. Het brengt symfonische muziek tot leven in de drie Noordelijke provincies, met zo’n 120 concerten per seizoen: in concertzalen, in de openlucht, tijdens festivals en voor scholen. Ook toert het orkest regelmatig naar podia elders in het land, zoals het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam en de Doelen in Rotterdam. The North Netherlands Symphony Orchestra (NNO) was founded in 1862, making it the oldest professional symphonic orchestra in The Netherlands. The NNO offers vibrant symphonic music to the three Northern provinces, with roughly 120 concerts per season in concert halls, the open air, during festivals and at schools. In addition, the orchestra regularly performs at theatres elsewhere in the country, including The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and theatre De Doelen in Rotterdam.
