Black River Public School is a not-for-profit school chartered by Grand Valley State University and located in the historic Holland Furnace building near downtown Holland, MI. Black River serves students in grades K-12 without geographical boundaries; any student, regardless of school district, may attend. Black River offers a college preparatory liberal arts middle school and high school that employs smaller class size to create an environment thriving on participation, responsiveness, and experiential learning. Our elementary school is Montessori-based and fosters student achievement and responsibility through smaller sized classes with individualized learning plans to enhance advancement. With an integrated curriculum, demonstrating relationships among fields of study, Black River is a place for any child to experience the joys of learning.
