We’ve witnessed the devastating effects of wildfires firsthand in our home state and around the globe, and we’re committed to developing high-performance, environmentally-friendly solutions to stop them. Fortress brings together expertise in chemistry, engineering, environmental science, firefighting, and operations, all with the shared mission of saving lives, lands, property and planet from destructive wildfires. Fortress is developing a comprehensive suite of long-term fire retardant (LTR) solutions inclusive of aerial, ground, and residential formulations, purpose-built for the unique demands of each setting. We’ve spent multiple years building a wide moat of intellectual property around our product portfolio, and are currently working with the United States Forest Service (USFS) to bring our superior fire suppression technology to the field. Fire retardant technology is overdue for an upgrade. Environmental researchers have known for a long time that industrial fertilizer doesn’t belong on our wildlands or in our natural water systems, but it has been the only long-term fire retardant fully qualified for use by the United States Forest Service. We’re working hard to change that. Fortress fire retardants are based on an entirely new formulation that provides superior fire control while eliminating the harsh environmental side effects of fertilizer-based retardants.
