Polygonal BV was founded in 2016 by Samira Lafkioui and Wim Vanroose with the aim to introduce advanced algorithms, online digital sharing and workflows in all kind of industry. Samira Lafkioui (1973), a technical consultant in fashion. Working since 1999 for high-end labels such as AF Vandervorst, Haider Ackermann, Les Hommes and Raf Simons. She has also worked for brands such as Andres, CKS, VF Europe and others where she gained complementary competences. Main responsibilities have been the development of collection and follow-up of production, as a technical expert between designer and manufacturer / supplier. Over the years she took up management responsibilities for planning, costs, sourcing and optimizing production. Since 2016, she has been self-employed and works with young companies or special projects. Wim Vanroose (1974) is a PhD in Computational Physics, 2001, and has worked as Computational Scientist at Berkeley Lab, USA, 2001-2004, and KU Leuven, 2004-2006. Since 2006, he has been professor (100%) of Applied Mathematics at U. Antwerpen. He has published more than 70 scientific papers in specialized mathematical and algorithm journals. He is experienced in bringing advanced algorithms to applications. Since 2015, he is also co-founder at Motulus, a software company in Hoboken that creates specialized optimization software for the logistics (TUI, Lineas, ..) and high-tech industry (ASML, Atlas Copco, ... ).
