Charles Tersolo Fine Art is an oil painting and print company that began in Boston in 2005. After working with local Boston and Provincetown scenes outdoors, it's founder, Charles Tersolo, began painting oils inside with a projector. Using photos from trips around the world, Charles developed works in seven stages; Rough Draw, Gold Layer, Rough Color, Blue Layer, Final Under Layer, Final Layer, and Final Detail. Completed works change color and contrast with lighting. Translating the works into prints captures overlapping pigments, creating an atomic pointillism effect. For 20% of the painting time Charles uses Adobe Photoshop to create a tailored slideshow for each layer. Starting with dark photos, they expand sections of the image, lightening and colorizing them. This virtual plein-air painting process recreates the way the eye refocuses, and the changing light, that happens when painting live on site. Charles was invited back to top-ten national shows in Miami, Chicago, and Houston. He exhibited in 9 galleries, and was accepted as an artist member to the Copley Society of Art on Newbury Street in Boston and The Salmagundi Club on Fifth Avenue in New York City. Business Manager Ed Childs worked with Charles operating the gallery studio of Charles Tersolo Paintings since 2004, and joined him on national juried shows presenting the work to 2 million visitors. He has been orchestrating web updates since 2010, and has taken over administrative assisting in recent years, creating engaging emails with embedded links, operating finances, framing, and client engagement. Project Manager Charles Tersolo moved to Boston in 1998, where he began working on figurative paintings and cityscapes, selling them in South End, Back Back, and Cambridge locations. As of 2016 Charles lives and works in New Britain, Connecticut. He worked exclusively as a fine art oil painter from 2003 to 2017, and worked as Office Manager of CTFA from 2015-2018.
