The Institute of Cyber Digital Investigation Professionals (ICDIP) promotes, develops and represents the professionalism, integrity and excellence of those operating within cyber digital investigations. Our principal objectives are: • To assure the quality and standards of cyber digital investigations for the benefit of the public • Maintain and develop high standards of competency and skills amongst cyber digital investigation operatives across the UK • Act as the single professional body representing those at the heart of cyber digital investigations. The increasing prominence of cyber and digital elements across all criminal investigations cements the ICDIP membership as a necessary asset for all law enforcement. The ICDIP membership provides an accreditation process that has been proven to support the professionalisation of those at the heart of cyber digital investigation. Individuals are assessed against the Skills and Standards Framework (SSF) for practitioners and strategists involved in the investigation of cyber dependent and cyber enabled crime across five job families including; Investigator, Intelligence, Interviewer, Forensic and Analyst, each having Skill Categories of Practitioner and Strategist as well as Membership Levels of Affiliate, Associate and Full Member. The Accreditation, CPD and recertification process assess the level of competency that a candidate applying for membership of the ICDIP holds. The professional status of those successfully passing through the accreditation process and demonstrating evidence of competency against skills and standards detailed in the SSF, is recognised through membership of the ICDIP.
