Where there’s passion, there is possibility. At IGNITE, passion comes from everywhere. From the vulnerable communities that come to us for help; to the dedicated IGNITE staff that help them get there. Passion is all around us and the possibilities are endless. Since 2013, IGNITE has been providing one-on-one mentorship to refugees starting new lives in Australia. Based on a model that places the person at the centre, we custom design an individualised support around the person that progresses at the pace of the client, not rushing them like traditional incubators. The success of the model- over 1300 people supported- has enabled the model to be applied to other groups such as people with a disability, First nations people, anyone from a CALD background, women, youth and unemployed. Additionally, IGNITE has supported place-based programs to develop their own model to grow entrepreneurs in region and in cohorts. Sharing the learnings of the model for communities to develop their own programs. For example, IGNITE has supported the Immigrant Services Society of BC in Canada to tailor the IGNITE model to benefit the refugee community in Canada.
