East Midlands Teacher Training Partnership
www.emttp.ac.ukThe East Midlands Teacher Training Partnership, based in Nottingham, is a partnership of schools who successfully contribute to the training of teachers through School Centred Initial Teacher Training Courses. Many of the teachers who have trained within our schools have forged very successful careers and have progressed into management roles within their schools. EMTTP is led by The West Bridgford School which is, again this year, the highest performing non selective secondary school in the East Midlands and rated by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding’. In order to provide the very best experience for our trainee teachers, we offer the opportunity to gain both QTS and a PGCE. The PGCE element of the course is delivered periodically throughout the training year in partnership with The University of Nottingham and carries 60 Masters level credits. The University of Nottingham is within easy reach of each of our partner schools. All of our trainees, therefore, will experience face to face lectures within the University's School of Education on The Jubilee Campus and will be given full academic rights. This means that all EMTTP trainees will have access to services such as the University Library, online resources and Student Union membership. We feel this collaboration gives our trainees the broadest possible experience during their training year and equips them fully for their career in teaching. We are extremely proud of our local roots and the collaboration we enjoy within our partnership, including University, Primary, Special and Secondary Schools who have, themselves, strong track records in teacher training.
