www.runnermag.caThe Runner is Kwantlen Polytechnic University's premiere student-owned newsmagazine and online outlet. It is created by dynamic students and a dedicated staff. As the independent news and culture source for students at Kwantlen Polytechnic University it publishes 20 issues each year and distributes to all four Kwantlen campuses -- Surrey, Richmond, Langley and Cloverdale. Online, it utilizes the web and social media to enhance its voice 'as it happens'. The Runner always seeks students to get involved with its projects, including aspiring: writers, photographers/videographers, illustrators, designers and editors. Polytechnic Ink Publishing Society (“PIPS”) is a non-profit society, that governs Kwantlen's main student-led publications such as The Runner. The society holds its mandates in high regards, which include duties to: "act as an unbiased agent of social, cultural and environmental change", and "use its freedom from commercial, political and other controls to ensure that it presents local, national and international news fairly, and examines what other media avoid." On the horizon, PIPS's students and its staff work to deliver new and diverse media projects.
