Thomas Dunn Learning Center
www.tdunn.orgSince 1930, Thomas Dunn's vision for "a learned and peaceful society" has helped thousands of participants recognize, define and realize their goals for personal growth. Thankfully, Thomas Dunn's legacy "to promote the physical, mental, moral and social welfare of the inhabitants of St. Louis, "continues to help us educate, provide culture, enrichment, and enable civic engagement in our region. It also allows our community to enjoy most offerings for FREE at the Thomas Dunn Learning Center. We gladly accept donations to continue to grow and serve the community. Our mission is to enrich lives through engaging learning experiences, and to create partnerships which promote individual growth and enhance the community’s quality of life. Thomas Dunn Learning Center History Thomas Dunn (1842 – 1931) was an English immigrant who came to St. Louis at 21 with no job and no money. Through a lifetime of hard work, a keen business sense and wise investments, Dunn ultimately made a fortune from his business – the Dunn Mercantile Company and the sale of his property in the City’s West End. Dunn was known for helping people and giving back. He never forgot the hard times when he was young. In 1930, at the age of 86, Dunn started the Thomas Dunn Memorials “to promote the physical, mental, moral and social welfare of the inhabitants of St. Louis.” His gift is the foundation for the current Thomas Dunn Learning Center.
