Established in 1992, The Wilderness Land Trust is a national, nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to purchasing lands for the federal wilderness system to ensure their preservation. The Wilderness Land Trust buys private land (inholdings) in designated and proposed wilderness areas from willing sellers to transfer to public ownership so that all generations will enjoy an enduring resource of wilderness.
