2019 three start-up entrepreneurs from Freiburg, Germany bring an emergency call solution for outdoor sports on the market: Tocsen. The system consisting of a crash sensor and a smartphone app detects crashes and automatically calls for help in case of the emergency, that the person having the accident is no longer able to do so. The mission of Alexander Schumacher, Malte Buttjer and Andreas Botsch: Lifesaving cannot be left to chance! The first serial production is financed by the founders in 2019 via a successful crowdfunding. Since 2020 Tocsen is available at speciality retailers throughout Germany. Collaborations with international helmet manufacturers follow: Uvex, Alpina and EKOI integrate the system in special helmet collections.
