The BRVA is a 501c3 not-for-profit community organization serving residents and businesses in Broad Ripple. Founded in 1969, the BRVA is the oldest and largest volunteer organization actively working on initiatives that enrich the community, attract investment, amplify public spaces, and improve quality of life in Broad Ripple. The BRVA’s mission is to support and encourage a spirit of community cooperation in Village development and beautification and to serve as a community liaison to the City of Indianapolis. The work of the BRVA is carried out by dedicated volunteers. The official boundaries of the BRVA are Kessler Boulevard East Drive on the south, North Meridian Street on the west, the White River on the north, and North Evanston Avenue on the east. Individuals, businesses, and organizations outside the boundaries, who are interested in contributing to the well-being of Broad Ripple Village, may also join the association. The affairs of the organization are governed by an elected Board of Directors. The Board elects the officers, who are referred to collectively as the Executive Committee. The officers include President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The initiatives, projects, and events of the Association are carried out by various standing and ad hoc committees, which report their activities to the Board of Directors for information and action. An Executive Director, hired by the Board of Directors of the Broad Ripple Village Association, works as a liaison between the membership, the Board, the committees, the community, other neighborhood organizations, and the City of Indianapolis.
