We dream of a machine able to bake a fresh pizza at the touch of a button. Starting from water and flour, and in less than 3 minutes... presto! A personal size pizza served in a pizza box. Well, we finally built such a machine. The pizza vending machine we built is the first fully automated, self-sufficient robot with the capability to bake a hot pizza at nearly the same temperature realized by wood fire pizza ovens using all raw and fresh ingredients. It is a fully automated, self-contained pizzeria that is about the size of two standard soda vending machines. This technology will open doors to a series of innovations on how people can order, prepare and consume food.
