The school opened in the fall of 2006 and graduated its first senior class in the spring of 2010. The school is situated on ten acres in Miami-Dade County. The school is located in a middle class residential neighborhood. The geographical situation of the school is very appealing because of its proximity, major highways and Broward County. Colleges and Universities such as Doral College, Miami Dade’s North Campus, Miami Dade’s Broward Campus, St. Thomas University and Florida International University are within short driving distances allowing our students to enroll and participate in these settings. Our school not only offers a first class educational program, but also offers a convenient and accessible campus. Mater Lakes Academy is a comprehensive middle/high school enrolling over 2100 students in grades 6 through 12. The student body is a diverse population composed of 93% Hispanic/Latino, 3% Black, 3% White, and 1% other.
