Stichting Zeilen Van Vrijheid is a group of volunteers sending humanitarian convoys to Ukraine. We are directly in touch with Ukrainian hospitals and drive into Ukraine, so we are able to provide useful help fast. How do we do it? a) We get requests from Ukrainian hospitals. We receive accurate and constantly updated information about what exactly is needed. b) We collect and buy the needed supplies. Alongside personal donations, we collaborate with charity funds that sponsor the most expensive and rare medical equipment. We are also in touch with hospitals and suppliers in the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium that are able to give us some of the supplies free of charge or at a reduced price. c) We buy second-hand cars that can be used by Ukrainian hospitals. We load the cars with the requested goods and send them directly to Ukraine in humanitarian convoys driven by volunteers. We do not unload at the border to save time and drive directly into Ukraine. Our convoys leave regularly. Since early March 2022, we have sent three humanitarian convoys with 16 ambulance cars and 6 support vehicles. Leaders of our group have official credentials and authorisation letters from the following Ukrainian organisations: – The Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – State Border Guard Service of Ukraine – Office of the President of Ukraine. Large donations can be processed through an ANBI-recognized foundation to decrease income tax in the Netherlands (conditions apply).
