Georgia Funeral Care and Cremation
www.georgiafuneralcare.comAbout The Marcy Family The Marcy Family has lived in the Atlanta area for over thirty (30) years. An Atlanta native, Gina grew up in Cobb County, attended North Cobb High School, and graduated from Kennesaw State University. Kevin moved to Georgia in 1986 after attending Ohio University. Once in Atlanta, he graduated from Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service. Kevin and Gina have two sons – Wade and Reed, as well as their furry kid Carlos. The Marcy Family has a long history of serving families during their time of loss. Prior to starting Georgia Funeral Care & Cremation Services, Kevin and Gina also founded Dream Land Pet Memorial Center in 2006. As animal lovers themselves, it was a true heartfelt calling to help others deal with losing their furry family members. The first full service pet funeral home in Georgia, Dream Land is still in business and located next door to the Georgia Funeral Care chapel in Acworth. Five Generations of Marcy Heritage In 1868, soon after the Civil War, Willard Marcy, Kevin’s great-great grandfather, began serving the funeral needs of Conneaut, Ohio residents in a former blacksmith shop in East Conneaut. Willard’s son, Charles, took over in 1896 and eventually settled in the present location at the corner of Liberty and Harbor Streets in 1918. Charles was joined by his sons, Hugh in 1911, and then Robert C. in 1933. In 1960, Robert B. (Kevin’s father) joined his own father, Robert C., to carry on the family tradition for a fourth generation. Kevin became a licensed funeral director in 1996, continuing the Marcy legacy for a fifth generation. His sister, Kori Marcy Campbell, joined their father in 2001 in Ohio, and Kevin and his wife, Gina, founded Georgia Funeral Care & Cremation Services in Acworth in 2012.
