The underground community at Colorado School of Mines is comprised of a collaborative, interdisciplinary group of faculty and students from civil engineering, geology and geological engineering, mining engineering and mechanical engineering, as well as geophysics and computer science, with a collective interest in education and research in underground engineering. Underground at Mines encompasses the underground construction and tunnel engineering graduate degree program, the undergraduate minor degree program, and professional development and continuing education courses for owners, consultants, builders and designers working in underground construction and tunneling.
