Civic-Tech Initiative; working to raise active citizens in Nigerian and educating young people to champion the course of Social and EIA Audit. The overall objective of the assessment is to analyze the current and potential impact of development project activities on the environment and the financial budget attached to EIA(s). We look into some of the constituency projects in Nigeria, their state, amount and what the citizens should do to help address the issues of transparency and accountability. We conduct Development research which means research that is relevant, development-oriented, aimed at providing answers to development problems. The EIA Act No. 86 of 1992 makes the EIA mandatory for development projects likely to have adverse impacts on the environment prior to implementation. Prior to the enactment of the EIA Act in Nigeria, project appraisals were limited predominantly to feasibility studies and economic-cost-benefit analysis. Most of these appraisals did not take environmental costs, public opinion, and social and environmental impacts of development projects into consideration. Therefore, since this does not only affect the negative impact of EIA but also the financial corruption perpetrated under the assessment, budget, compensation plans and implementation before, during and post project state. We will employ various social audit techniques such as financial and compliance audit among others.
