Sustainable and Inclusive Digital Financial Services
sustainabledfs.lbs.edu.ngAt Sustainable and Inclusive Digital Financial Services, we work with the government and policy makers, financial services regulators, donors and the private sector to drive financial inclusion in Nigeria. Access to financial services is a critical factor in the transition out of poverty—and while we have made significant progress in driving financial inclusion around the world, globally two billion people remain unbanked. In Nigeria, 4 out of every 10 adult Nigerians are financially excluded—and there is still much work to be done to reach the nation's goal of 80% financial inclusion by 2020. Lagos Business School with support from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation launched the Sustainable Digital Financial Services Project in Nigeria in 2015. The goals are: 1. To better understand the delivery and access constraints of digital financial services in the country. 2. To present sustainable business models for delivering digital financial services to lower income, unbanked citizens of the country. At the end of the day, we hope to drive financial inclusion for all Nigerians.
