The Abdulrauf University of Neurosurgery (AUN) is a non-profit institution for higher education headquartered in the United States. As the first academic neurosurgical university in the world, the AUN was founded in collaboration with the Abdulrauf Institute of Neurosurgery in 2021. The AUN intends to become a truly global compendium of neurosurgical knowledge and literature, granting certified diplomas to neurosurgeons (PhD in Neurosurgery), residents in neurosurgery training (Master of Science in Neurosurgery), and medical students seeking to enter the field of neurosurgery (Bachelor of Science in Neurosurgery). By providing a global online education platform that gathers together various levels of proficiency - from practicing surgeons, residents-in-training to newly enrolled students - AUN fosters equal opportunity and inclusivity. Our institution incorporates state-of-the-art technologies in order to elevate neurosurgical training to the highest level of 21st century medicine and higher education. As such, we aim to become the 'Youmans' for the next generation of neurosurgeons. The AUN pursues its strategy with a clear goal in mind: to improve patient outcomes across the globe by creating a novel model for continuous learning in the life of an aspiring, soon-to-be or already certified neurosurgeon. Neurosurgery is one of the most demanding specialties in the field of medicine, and to achieve exceptionalism (the goal for every neurosurgeon) it may take up to 30 years after completion of residency training. It is the AUN's ultimate goal to decrease that period of time by more than half - only then, will we have successfully delivered on our strategic goal.
