SOTA
www.sotascience.comWhen architectural design is considered as the production of spaces where people can comfortably meet the basic needs of human beings, the way the design is made has changed continuously with the cumulative developments in history. With the increase in the number of people living in the world, urbanization gaining momentum with technology and changing life styles, the parameters of comfort between man and space are constantly changing. Our first energy source, the sun, is the most important comfort parameter that ensures our survival. Being able to meet the needs of daytime warming and enlightenment through the sun, human beings searched for a place to protect from the cold at night and to hide from the darkness of the night. These spaces have evolved with the discovery of energy sources such as fire, coal, turbine, oil, electricity, steam, natural gas and nuclear. The evolution of spaces is accelerating day by day and architectural design requirements are constantly changing. In today's buildings, energy consumption is influenced by basic parameters such as climatic, environmental, spatial factors and user comfort. Considering that the buildings consume approximately 40% of the energy produced in the world, it is of great importance that these parameters are examined in the architectural design stage by building performance analyses. For the energy efficient design of the building, it is the most basic approach to observe sun and earth movements, climate-microclimate relationship, architectural materials and user requests. The application of these parameters at different scales at the design stage brings about an interdisciplinary study. As a result of many inputs and input functions, the architectural design tries to reach the ideal by using multi-objective optimizations as parameters, design knowledge, variable user requirements, urban physics, building physics, structure physics, climate and micro-climate. SOTA aims to achieve the manifest.
