The Alaska Geospatial Council lead by the State's Geospatial Information Officer, Dr. Leslie Jones, provides coordination and organizational governance for statewide geospatial data, technologies, policies, and standards. The Council ensures spatial data and services are available to all Alaskans and are developed, managed, procured and coordinated to best practices. The Council also supports Priority Initiatives for the State that rely on the integration of geospatial data to provide services to the public and a platform for data-driven decision making.
