The British Undergraduate Space, Extreme Environment & Engineering Medicine Association (BUSEMA) aims to support the interests of any university student who wishes to explore these rapidly developing niches of medicine. With a political, scientific, and commercial grasp on space well within reach, our practicable knowledge base and understanding is an inevitable future necessity that BUSEMA supports.  A comprehensive understanding of how the human body responds and maintains homeostasis, or indeed fails to, within the unpredictable environments that space travel has to offer is therefore critical. With this knowledge, we may use engineering and technology to improve the health and well-being of human beings both in outer-space and back home on Earth.
