Throughout the year the centre is host to a great number of events, organised by St Peter's directly and by local, national and international acts, bringing live music, theatre and much more to the town of Ipswich. St Peter's is home to many local community groups who regularly use the facilities for rehearsals, activity group sessions and church services. St Peter's is open as a Heritage Centre every Tuesday and Wednesday between 10am and 2pm from October to April and Tuesday, Thursday & Friday between 10am and 4pm and Wednesday between 10am and 2pm from May to September. The Heritage Centre boosts unique displays about the history of St Peter's, the local area of Stoke and the wider area of Ipswich and is home to one of only a handful of rare Tournai marble fonts which has been in place since the 12th century. It is also home to the Ipswich Millennium Charter Hangings, designed, researched and directed by Suffolk artist and tutor Isabel Clover and worked on by her City and Guilds students.
