From January 2009 till March 2014 AG Stadsplanning Antwerpen was an autonomous company founded by the city of Antwerp to ensure guidance and quality control of strategic city development projects. The objective pursued by the company was to strengthen the durable spacial structure of the city of Antwerp, making it even more attractive and livable for its inhabitants and visitors. These strategic projects currently included: Het Eilandje, Scheldekaaien, Groene Singel and Omgeving Centraal Station.
