The University of California, Santa Barbara's Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry provides a superior research and teaching environment for its students and employees. Publications by faculty members from our department were the 3rd most cited in the nation among all chemical departments, according to a recent report by the Institute of Scientific Information, (http://www.isinet.com/). Our Department also ranked 6th in productivity. Strong inter-campus collaborations with other outstanding departments on campus further enhance the environment for chemical sciences at UCSB.
