Fashion Makes Change, a project of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, is an industry wide initiative delivering women’s empowerment and climate action in tandem. We have formed an ecosystem of collaborative action among brands, consumers, and stakeholders in the industry to drive positive change. Our mission is to accelerate a global agenda of women's empowerment, education, and gender equality. Through our partnerships with 50+ brands and Empower@Work, a joint initiative of UN-ILO Betterwork, BSR HerProgram, Gap’s PACE program, and CARE International, we directly fund and support leading women's empowerment programs for women working within the global fashion supply chain. Empowering women is the sixth greatest mitigator of climate change, and we believe the two issues are inextricably linked. When women thrive so do their whole communities, and when women have the tools to do so they build more resilient communities. Women should be at the forefront of sustainable development.
