LCCOA is the only Community Center and only Meals Program for all 642 sq. miles of Lincoln County Missouri. Our organization has 45 years of outstanding service and fiscal stewardship of funds. We delivery hot, nutritious meals Monday through Friday to homebound seniors, Veterans, and persons with disabilities, and on-site lunches served to congregate diners who have transportation to the center - fighting food-insecurity. We also provide numerous daily activities that promote active-aging, and reduce social-isolation. LCCOA’s programs are proven to; * Improve mental health, specifically decreases in depression & anxiety * Improve physical health * Reduce likelihood of falls * Reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness * Less worry about being able to remain living at home * Increased feelings of safety * A higher likelihood of eating healthy The pandemic increased the community's need for LCCOA's services, so we went under a Comprehensive Organizational Assessment & Report by a third party. Assessor J. Michael Keller and his scribe, Anna Ross, conducted a thorough investigation into our organization and their Top-Line Takeaway from the COAR is; "By almost any measure, LCCOA is an estimable nonprofit enterprise. It has an engaged and knowledgeable board with a strong sense of mission. The very small staff is clearly mission-driven and deeply dedicated. The executive director and board chair share a vision of organizational priorities and demonstrate an eagerness for action. LCCOA's facility is attractive, welcoming, and impressively maintained. The clients enthusiastically praise all the ways to be involved and active. Time spent with them elicited a spontaneous chorus of appreciation: "I don't know how I'd survive without this place" was an echoing refrain, and the clients' appreciation was not based on food alone."
