Launched in February 2018 with the support of the Victorian Government, the “Virtual” Food Innovation Network links research and development service providers with food businesses that are looking to innovate, including the CSIRO, Universities and specialists consultants. The network has over 1,500 registered users and an “Expert” Community of Practice with 40 members who are available to assist businesses solve problems. The Network includes a unique ‘Ask an Expert’ function that allows registered users to pose a question to the Community of Practice in order to find a solution. The Network aims to build Victoria’s food innovation capability by linking businesses with industry expertise, providing content on relevant topics and upcoming industry events.
