Funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, under the PICAC (Partners in Culturally Appropriate Care) Programme, Multicultural Aged Care Inc. (MAC) is a peak body for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) ageing, aged, and community care. Sector Support MAC facilitates the sharing of information within the sector and leads sector development discussions. MAC has continuously engaged and collaborated with key stakeholders in aged care such as the Commonwealth Department of Health, Aged and Community Services Australia, SA Collaborative Projects, NARI, FECCA, PCAN, OPAN and NACA etc. Resource Development MAC also plays an important role in the creation and development of national resources and has represented the CALD 'voice' on various national working groups. MAC's resources include specialised cultural knowledge and expertise in supporting older people from CALD backgrounds. Training, Education and Information MAC's professional expertise is predominantly in delivering trainings underpinning cultural intelligence, safety, and competence. Some of our key trainings are delivered in collaboration with specialist organisations and cover topics such as Cultural Awareness Training (CAT), Dementia, and Palliative Care. We also deliver tailored sessions for service providers' unique needs.The MAC library (PICAC) is a collection of resources focusing on the cultural and linguistic aspects of aged and community care. Resources available for loan include books, training materials, DVDs, music, activities, armchair travel, games and communication aids. We also offer a Mobile Library service that endeavours to support aged care workers in providing culturally Social Support Programe Café 94 (CHSP) We deliver culturally appropriate social support sessions and activities to CALD clients from all over the world, who are 65 years and over. We run activities including, but not limited to: bus trips, live music and dancing, arts and craft, and wellness.
